I have read books on most of the men who were written about here. This book to me was good because Brandon Webb devoted a chapter to each one of them and not only talks about his friendship with them during their time serving together but also shared insight of each one of them that was shared by their family while they were growing up. They are all heroes and should always be remembered that way.
The author provides a very introspective accounting of some of the U.S. Navy Seal heroes with whom he trained and worked. Webb's perspective and humility are a refreshing testament to the quality of the men and women who perform the "invisible" but necessary work that helps keep us and our families safe. Heroes is exactly what they are...all of them!
I always enjoy reading about our nations heroes, even though it sometimes brings tears to my eyes. This was one such story. Well written and versed. The author really does a great job describing the main characters personalities. As a nation, we must never forget those that pay the ultimate price for our freedoms. It's heartwarming to know we are Among Heroes.

There are all types of books about different categories. This book was not only about the sacrifices of Navy SEALS and other servicemen and women, but who they are/were as people. Thank you to the author Brandon Webb for sharing your story about your team members and family.Fewer than 1% of our population ever serve our Great Nation. There are far fewer percentage that ever make it to our elite Special Forces. Thank you for the glimpse into who these people are and for continuing to find and inspire new ways to serve your country.I urge anyone who looks at these reviews to pick up this book and give it a read. Although the author couldn't possibly have enough pages/time to write about everyone he has served with, he has honored those he did write about.The men and women of our military are not just a name on a page or a story in a headline. They are sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts. Most of all they are people brave enough to raise their right hand and sign a contract to protect all of us from both foreign and domestic enemies.The numbers of killed in action or wounded in action can easily be found. However, those "numbers" each have a story of loss with them. They each have a story and a sacrifice. All those people willingly raised their hand and signed a contract that includes up to their life.The family and friends that mourn their loss or are there to take care of those injured would benefit from this book. It shows who the people were and the lessons they taught along the way. It reminds it is of course ok to be sad of their death. At the same time be ok with it as they were doing what they loved and to protect as many as they can.Part of the Army's Soldier's Creed is "I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life." Every branch of our Military has a similar version. Be grateful of the Sheep Dog's that protect us from the evils of the world. Whether it is our Military, Law Enforcement and the Security contractors that are often previously trained Military service members.Bottom line = great book. Couldn't help but write a great review.
Fascinating book on warriors who laid it all on the line. It lays out the personal stories of the men behind the mask. Their heroism makes me feel so worthless, like I've accomplished not even a tenth of what they have. But in all honesty knowing who and how they lived inspires me to be more like them. I kept asking myself how hard it must be to know you are profiting off of a friend's death. But in all honesty by the time you read the first story and realize someone needs to tell the world about the men sacrificing so much. And without knowing their stories is a tradegy. Their lives and memories should be celebrated. The world needs to hear it.
By the time I got to the third chapter, I was starting to feel a little depressed. Brandon paints such a lively portrait of each of these heroes, it's easy to get emotionally invested in them. They truly represent the best of the best in all of us. They train for missions that take them in harm's way (has there ever been a mission for SEALs that wasn't dangerous?). And you know they're going to die.These are all men who I would have been happy to meet; Brandon I envy you for having the privilege of having them in your life. I do not envy you the loss you feel now they're gone.This is a poignant collection of stories that is a fitting memorial for these men who died. Hero is almost an understatement.
Among hero’s, Finished this book yesterday and liked it a lot with descriptive action and its easy flow makes this book worth the purchase. The book follows the career of the seal from start to finish including training and deployments. The book also describes the interaction between fellow seals and the losses they suffer during their rotation in and out of deployments, not to mention also training accidents. Great read
