This is a very shallow book that covers none of the topics in any detail at all. The entire book takes about an hour to read and really doesn't provide much useful information. There is a bare discussion of different types of organization but nothing more than a paragraph on each one. There's no discussion about the advantages/disadvantages of an LLC vs a Chapter S. There are six pages devoted to starting an LLC, but 15 pages devoted to marketing the author's other book.

Horrible. I was unable to get past the first few pages because of the atrocious grammar and sentence structure. It's impossible to understand the topic when the writing itself is incomprehensible. I usually avoid self-published books but I missed the fact that this was one of them. That's my fault. If you want to learn about starting an LLC, do NOT use this book as a source of information.

When forming my business I had so many questions about the type of business entity I should form. I found chapter 7 to be most helpful which explains the differences in accounting for an LLC. For someone who has little to no knowledge of the two methods of accounting I found it to be very beneficial to know ahead of time the type accounting you want to practice for your business. This book was easy to follow and spoke in a language that even non accounting folk can understand.

Multiple grammatical errors in the first 3 pages, and they don't stop there. Short book, made with little content, often rambling prose. Of the 96 pages in the book, 25 of them are advertisements/previews of the author's other books, 19 of them are easily googled snippets about state specific costs of startup, rules, etc. The rest of the 50 pages can be read within an hour, are without much substance, and are full of lots of legal anecdotes. I wish I had read other reviews before purchasing. Don't waste your time or money.

This book is nothing more than a blog page

Great resource for individuals or entrepreneurs who wants to have a start up company. The book mentions everything you need to do when forming an LLC where the most important benefit for the members is they will not worry that their personal properties can be seized or possessed by creditors. Also, very insightful with offering information regarding accounting systems for entrepreneurs/business owners that don’t know where to start. Unlike shareholders in a corporation, LLCs are not taxed as a separate business entity. LLC members report profits and losses on their personal federal tax returns, just like the owners of a partnership would. Perfect book for entrepreneurs.

This book provides a really nice overview of what an LLC is and how to go about setting one up - with state-specific information as well. It makes the whole process seem less daunting by covering all the steps of the process and things to consider along the way - from organizational structure to tax implications. A great place to start for someone thinking of starting their own LLC!

My wife and I have found this book a great reference for protecting assets during our retirement. I would recommend this book for those that want to protect what they have saved and to ensure that you don't pay taxes unnecessarily while in retirement. Helping you save more always makes more sense and the author provides a number of practical examples as well as examples of what not to do. With the 2018 tax law changes this book is a little out of date but overall the message of this book is still well within scope for those that want to save and extend their retirement savings.

This book is good for individuals who are planning to retire in ten years. I did get some interesting ideas and suggestions that I plan to followup on.

Ed does a good job of leading you around the do's, the don'ts, and the can do's of IRA's and other retirement accounts 401(k)'s, 403(b)'s, and 457's. He uses concrete examples to demonstrate the calculations required, and he has a sense of humor about the tax traps and degree of complexity in the IRS rules. I learned a lot and had fun doing so.

I have read most of Ed Slott's books. Mr Slott understands, not only the basics, but also the nuances of retirement planning thru IRAs.This book does a wonderful job explaining the jungle associated with most Government controlled programs. Making changes to your IRA without an understanding of the rules is like playing the game of baseball without not knowing rules. The game may seem intuitive, but the details are in the rules. A simple mistake, even by an estate lawyer who is an expert is estate law, can cost you and your beneficiaries big bucks in taxes.If you want a basic understanding of the differences between a 401K, 403B, 457, IRA, Roth IRA, Roth 401K, this is your book. If you want to know how to maximize the money you give to your kids thru inheritance from your financial plans like IRAs and 401Ks, this is your book. If you want to know how to minimize the tax dollars the government bites out of your estate, this is your book.The cost of this book could be the best gift you can read for your future beneficiares... JAS

The "time bomb" is all about how to ensure that whatever remains in your tax deferred retirement account (IRA, 401K, HSA, etc) is passed along to your kids (or whoever) AFTER you die and to keep it out of probate court. The solution is to name both primary (usually your spouse) and contingent (usually your kids) beneficiaries for these accounts. Pretty basic advise. He also discusses how to do the same with a bank checking/savings account by filling out a Payable-on-Death (POD) form (available from your bank) or Brokerage account via a Transfer-on Death (TOD) form (available from your broker). Again, very basic advise.

This book outlines what boomers (and others) should know about their retirement finances. Few know what the problems might be when they transfer or start accessing retirement money. Fewer still will bother to find out and even fewer will act on the information. What "The Retirement Savings Time Bomb.." discusses is how to prevent unneccessary taxable acts when accessing the money and even how to access funds early (before 59 1/2). Finally, he talks over reasons for converting a regular IRA to a Roth IRA if it makes economic sense and how to minimize taxation in the long run. If I have one critical comment about the book, I feel the information is directed toward individuals who have more retirement savings than I. Regardless, I still will benefit from the information provided.

This book gave me the best detailed understanding of my retirement savings options and future issues I’ve seen yet. I received my copy as a gift from a friend and already and I’ve bought 2 other copies for my son-in-law and another friend.

The mc has developed stockholms syndrome. the only reason he doesent die in every single fight he is in, is thanks too dumb luck. There is also no harem in it either.

The premise behind this story is so horrifically horrible that I couldn’t even finish it, I got more than halfway through before I gave up. To be kidnapped dumped into an arena to fight monsters more powerful than you and if you lose your die and if you escape you get the right to fight to protect the ones who kidnapped you. Oh yeah the average life expectancy of someone who survives is about 12 days. They deliberately target people who susceptible to their influence and then tried to seduce you with having sex with them. I could go on and on about how stupid many of the things in this story are, but I honestly don’t feel like wasting my time on it. Read this story at your own risk, who knows maybe you might like it, and you can have dreams about been thrown into the circle and maybe surviving to have your 12 days of fun.

When I first started this book I was shocked at how relatable the characters were and how well thought out the story was. Of almost a thousand books and dozens of series I have read this would rate in the top 5 for sure. Even if your not into the whole erodic noval theme you will still love this epic tail.

You'd think it'd be hard to make a story about a guy who gets transported to another world, buffed up and made to fight monsters boring but apparently not. This book wasnt the worst book Ive ever ready but the MC was pretty pathetic and more or less worthless, it got sorta confusing at times as to what was going on and over all was just booooooring, holy cow it was boring

I have no idea what the author was trying to accomplish...what he did accomplish was to write a very boring book. The fights,the sex,the characters themselves are dull..if you need a sleep aid then this book is for you

Honestly, this was at best okay. Fairly well written, but the premise is a bit tired, and it's been done better elsewhere. Although the MC is generally likable, as is his human compatriot, the rest of the cast range from 'meh' to 'would you die already!'.The MC is ambivalent to his mission, unless he's getting laid, then he's all kinds of committed. Not my cup of tea, by YMMV,

Not a bad story, thought it would be more exciting than what it was. Did not see harem elements which was a turn off for me. I would say not harem but polyamorous instead. I might have bypassed these bookshelves of it.

Sigh. I’ve been a Mercedes Lackey fan since the Arrows books. Most of her “mind candy” stories are entertaining and have relatable characters who drive the plot line toward. In this installment, however, everything falls rather flat. The plot line is boring and repetitive. She uses forced “hey this character who I’ve used in multiple previous installments suddenly had a brand new magical ability!” to sort of make it work. Characters whom I am desperately hoping Lackey will retire (seriously, Sarah and Nan need to go) plod slowly. Their birds are more useful than they are.Normally with this author I can speed read my way through in an afternoon and feel as though I’ve just had an enjoyable time in another land or century. This time I couldn’t stop putting it down. Literally found myself yawning and thinking about doing the dishes because I would get more amusement out of a clean kitchen than reading this. Disappointed.

I jump to buy any new Lackey release. But this entry to the world of the Elemental Masters lost me early on. The first books were wonderful, unique and thought-provoking. This volume struggles so to fit the Arthur Conan Doyle model that it took multiple attempts to finish reading it.The best of Lackey is found in her ability to weave heart and hope into facing challenges and mysteries. This is the first volume without heart or hope or wit. I found no humor to hold me, and a lack of growth for the characters.When it came time to rate the book? I felt 3 stars too generous and 2 stars ungracious to bulk of the body of work. 99% of the books Lackey has published are amazing. Please, don't let this volume steer you away from an amazing author. This book however needs a complete rewrite before it could be considered as running into the Lackey canon.Please, Misty, let go of Holmes and get back to what you do best, Be You.

I have loved Ms. Lackey’s treatment of familiar and not-so-familiar fairy tales since her first Elemental Masters book. However, I find myself weary of the characters Nan and Sarah, unhappy with continued usage of Sherlock Holmes and Watson and really missing the continuous thread of the original fairy tale that is utterly lacking in the last two books. I am guessing that this installment is giving a nod to the legend of Bluebeard, but if so, the heroine/victims of the tale are incidental rather than central to the plot. C’mon Misty, back to Edwardian England, WW1 and the struggle for suffrage!

This latest Elemental Masters book continues her use of Sherlock Holmes and the Watsons as major characters along with telepath Nan Killian and medium Sarah Lyon-White. There are short chapters in which the seduction, marriage, and murder of young women are described—for the most part the young women are orphans whose fate no one is particularly interested in, like many others in London of the 1890s. The opening chapter quickly fixes the time of the book as immediately following the classic battle between Holmes and Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls. From Doyle’s stories, we know that Holmes survived that fight, but did Moriarty do so as well? There seems to be some evidence that an elemental master of some sort had become a senior member of his gang, and is behind the succession of dead girls. Not one of my favorites in the series, but enjoyable enough.

I thoroughly enjoy Holmesian fiction, so I expected to like this book and I did. Holmes is really least in sight, so Nan, Sarah, and Watson shine in this tale. And Lestrade? My favorite quotation was about him: Sarah had thought Lestrade couldn’t get any redder. She had been wrong. He turned from the color of a strawberry to the color of a beet.So with all this going for it, why was I not totally thrilled with the book? I think the gruesomeness of the murders got to me. And for the first time that I can remember Mercedes Lackey has put an easily recognizable political figure in the book and done it in a highly uncomplimentary fashion. I read fantasy to escape from some of the unpleasantness in real life and don't enjoy real life rearing its ugly head so obviously.Fans of the series will most likely enjoy the book as will those who enjoyed the earlier Holmes books in the series.

Ah, what a delight it always is to read the newest installment of the Elemental Masters series from Mercedes Lackey!The book jacket proclaims that this is the book in which Sherlock Holmes & Professor Moriarty have gone over Reichenbach Falls to their deaths.So, this is the book where the game is surely afoot but John & Mary Watson, Sarah and Nan, and Lord Alderscroft are on their own trying to hunt down & stop a serial killer while mourning their dear friend and colleague Sherlock Holmes.It will take all of their magical and psychic wits/powers if they are to pull this off and stop this murderer before he kills again!Highly recommended as a most enjoyable read to all alternate history urban fantasy Elementary Masters fans!

The Elemental Masters is turning into a Sherlockian horror series but it's still very enjoyable. This is no longer classic Mercedes Lackey comfort reading but it's a good page turner and I'm happy (about 3/4 of the way through). Also gave it a +1 star for appropriate character naming and description.

This was an exciting story with some established characters, mainly Sarah and Nan, and John and Mary Watson. Set in London, the other masters get some story time, too. It has lots of twists and turns, of course. It's true Lackey all the way. I love the way she writes her characters. You quickly get immersed in the story and it's hard to step out and take a break.
